Spider Leg Veins

SPIDER VEINS are small enlarged superficial blood vessels that appear red and blue. They commonly occur on the legs but frequently occur on the face as well. They may look like a spider web or a tree with branches.

If the veins are unsightly, for cosmetic purposes they can be treated by injection of a solution that will cause the veins to disappear or become much smaller. This is an office procedure with NO Down-Time.

TREATMENT

The injection method called sclerotherapy involves injecting a small amount of sclerosing solution such as a saline with a very small needle into the blood vessels. The solution irritates the lining of the vessels. Then in several weeks it turns into scar tissue under the skin and becomes barely noticeable. After the procedure, support hose are worn for 3 days and normal activity is resumed immediately.
